It is that time of year again. In January, we will be starting our fundraising campaign for the 2011 Prom boutique. Our organization depend on support from sponsors and individuals that support our mission. Please donate, even if only a $1 and encourage friends and family to do the same. We have counted over 203 dresses, 30 pairs of shoes, 25 evening bags, and 10 pairs of miscellaneous accessories that have been donated! Still waiting for word from 1 other drop off. Agnes scott college put boxes out for us and they have told us that alot of girls are planning to go home during spring break and come back with dresses as well. This turned out so much better than I could have ever imagined. This right now has our total to 403 dresses. Not too shabby for our first year I think. I'm so tickled. Again, a sincere thank you to everyone that has supported us in any way. We would not be able to do what we do without you.

With your help, we have counted over 159 dresses with more to go. This does not include the shoes, purses, and accessories that were donated as well. Whether you donated, told a friend, read the article in the paper and showed someone, tweeted, etc. You were a blessing to our organization. Our national event is over but we still collect dresses at our main location in Stone Mountain year round. We now have over 350 dresses to distribute to high school girls in financial need for prom. Pocket change for prom

Prom season is fast approaching! To continue our mission to provide dresses, shoes, and accessories to high school girls who are homeless or in need for prom, we are launching our Pocket change for prom kickoff. All selected schools will be given a container to collect change from December 1st until April 1st. We will donate 10% of funds collected from all participating schools to the school that collects the most money . These funds will go toward the winning school's prom committee. Our target schools are: Atlanta public schools Dekalb county schools Fulton county schools

The holidays are finally upon us and there are so many families in need. Dress of my dreams has adopted 1 family from the Atlanta day shelter for women and children and 1 family from the Atlanta children's shelter for the Christmas season..
We are seeking donations for Holiday House 2009, a place where parents can ‘shop’ free of charge for warm clothing, gifts for their children and family necessities. With your contributions, you can help bring holiday joy and the spirit of the season to those in need.
Holiday House provides the opportunity for parents to shop for the holidays at no charge on December 18th. All Holiday House items should be new and unwrapped. Suggested donations include seasonal clothing for children up to age 16, multicultural dolls, games, small household appliances, linens, bake ware, dishes and wrapping paper. We will accept items for parents as well.

Ann Cummings at the American Assistance League Atlanta contacted me about donating some dresses. They are the Atlanta branch of a national volunteer organization. They run a thrift store to help them continue their mission of philanthrophy in many areas. They get alot of formal dresses donated, but unfortunately, do not have clientele that needs these type of items. She gave me a whopping sum of over 40 dresses! All I can say is WOW. If you have unneeded items laying around the house, please donate to them. They are providing children with schoolsupplies and uniforms, work with the elderly, women in transition with interview clothes, and newborn and beravement layette packages. They are truly awesome. I went there to see if they had any dresses they would be willing to donate and the manager there told me to call the district office. I let a message, and sure enough, he called me back and agreed to donate their formal dresses to us. Thank you so much.

i would like to give a smiley face to Coan middle school. They had a clothes closet, but needed the room for a classroom and had to get rid of a whole room full of clothes. they graciously let me come by saturday and look for dresses and shoes for r organization. i found a lot of great things. they have been working for 2 days. i just picked up 3 boxes of shoes. yep, after one in the morning. well, there were 3 boxes of shoes, but another guy got there right after me and wanted the shoes too. being the unselfish person that i am, i only took what i needed and let him have the rest so he could take them back to haiti to sell. (haiti) if he would have mentioned that b4 hand, i would have done the "i got here first" thing and took them all and donated what i did not need to the goodwill or something. (haiti)!!!
